Report

We’re at a pivotal moment in the journey to reshape how Adur & Worthing Councils
work for our communities. This report updates on the progress of our Organisational
Design Programme, designed to create an organisation that supports our staff to
thrive, collaborates with our communities, and finds creative ways to fund services.
For 2024/25, we have a savings target of £2.2 million, with an additional £1.8 million
for 2025/26. We’ve made important strides in redesigning key areas like Digital,
Housing, Neighbourhoods and Resident Services. We’re supporting other services to
finalise their proposals before Christmas. We have prioritised a set of big shifts we
need to make to redesign how we work and meet our financial challenges.
While challenging, we continue to make progress towards these targets at the same
time as managing our considerable in-year budget pressures which are reported
elsewhere.
Throughout this journey, we’re keeping our focus on what matters most: people. This
redesign is not just about cutting costs—it’s about rethinking how we deliver services
in a way that truly benefits our communities.
